For zero-sequence CTs, the three-phase cables must pass through the window together, with the secondary winding connected to a relay or protection device. Terminals are typically marked 1S1 and 1S2; ensure polarity is consistent with the protection scheme. Never open-circuit the secondary of a CT while energized - hazardous voltage may occur. Ground the secondary winding at one point to ensure safety and proper operation.
